what is... Hyaluronic Acid
What is Hyaluronic acid? Should I be using it?
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin, and it helps to bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated. It can be found throughout the connective tissue in your body, with 50% of it being found in our skin, and large concentrations in the joints and eyes.
What does it do?
It holds moisture. Hyaluronic acid is capable of holding up to 1000 times its weight in water. This then helps to keep the joints lubricated and the skin soft and plump.
Who should use it?
EVERYONE, even oily/ acne prone skin! Hyaluronic acid is great for all skin types. Those with dry and/or mature skin will benefit the most from using Hyaluronic acid because as we age our bodies produce less of it, so replacing hyaluronic acid topically will make the most impact.
How should it be applied?
DAMP SKIN! Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant, meaning that it acts like a magnet for moisture. If you apply it to dry skin, it will end up pulling away any residual moisture from deep within your skin to the surface and cause your skin to become more dry.
When should I use it?
Twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. During the day, your skin works to protect itself from environmental damage, which hyaluronic acid can help with.
At night, while you are asleep, your skin works to heal and regenerate itself. This is the time during which it uses up the most water, meaning that an extra boost of moisture from Hyaluronic acid is much needed.

what are... Peptides?
WHAT ARE PEPTIDES
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks of proteins such as collagen, elastin and keratin. These proteins are the foundations of your skin and are responsible for its texture ,strength and resilience.
Without peptides our skin is less intact which can lead to a loss of firmness, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and change in texture.
When applied topically to the skin peptides act as little messengers, triggering skin cells to perform specific functions such as building collagen and elastin, encouraging skin to look and act younger.
Extensive scientific research has proven that peptides can support your skin on multiple levels, for example firming, smoothing and hydrating the skin.
WHAT CAN PEPTIDES DO FOR A SKIN
Peptides are one of the most talked about ingredients in the field of anti-ageing skin care. When applied to your skin they demonstrate remarkable benefits. Revitalising your skin and making it more resilient and stronger.
Peptides sink in more deeply, penetrating the outer layer of the skin. Giving the skin the appearance of firmer and youthful look.
